Karen is fully operational in four languages (Dutch, Spanish, French and English).
She joined the Brussels bar in 2022, after completing a Master of Laws degree at Ghent University (cum laude) in 2021 and an LL.M. of Intellectual Property and ICT Law at KU Leuven in 2022. Before joining Fencer, Karen obtained experience working with a Belgian law firm where she worked on various cases in the domains of intellectual property law and the broader commercial law. Furthermore, as a freelance consultant with Cultuurloket, she gained valuable insights into the preoccupations of creatives and non-profit organizations and enhanced her consultancy skills.

At Fencer, Karen focuses on trademark and design law, copyrights and trade practices and assists clients in managing and optimising their trademark and design portfolios.
