After an intensive bilingual (French/English) LL.M in intellectual property laws and competition law at the University of Liège, Caro followed an internship at the General Court of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Luxembourg, for three months. During this internship she was given a unique close up of the judicial process and even received the opportunity to cooperate on the drafting of certain decisions.
Caro started her professional career in an IP tier 1 law firm in 2015. Since then she has represented and advised a wide variety of clients in relation to all kinds of intellectual property rights, anti-counterfeiting, media- and entertainment law, market practices and unfair competition. Coming from an SME family business, she understands better than anyone the necessity to provide advice and guidance in proceedings at the level of the client. Her on-site consultancy projects with several clients have further enhanced her understanding of what is truly important for the “business” and she uses this knowledge as a valuable asset.
Apart from advisory work, Caro has litigated cases before all levels of the Belgian courts, the Benelux Court of Justice and the Court of Justice of the European Union and she has also conducted administrative proceedings before the Benelux Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
Caro furthermore has a specific interest for food, not only in general, but also for its legal aspects.
